The experience
On the edge of the Sahara Desert, the Red city of Marrakesh has brought visitors from across the world for centuries – a trading point where continents meet, the spices and street food of the souks paint a picture of its many influences, while the buildings and monuments are famed the world over. People come for the intricate, 450-year-old tombs of the Saadi Dynasty, the ruins of El Badi from 1578, and stay for Morocco’s newest attraction, an array of stunning Championship golf courses.

Marrakesh, Morocco itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrive in Casablanca and settle into the new Royal Mansour Casablanca, a 2024 rebirth of the hotel of Moroccan royalty, where luxury is distinctly of the old-world variety.

  • Day 2

    Overlooking a stretch of unspoilt, golden sand beach, play Bouznika Bay Club, from the design mastermind of Robert Von Hagge, and transfer to Fez, the ‘Athens of Africa’.

  • Day 3

    Three times the size of the Moroccan capital and it’s oldest imperial city, explore the ancient alleyways and bustling squares of Fez, with its UNESCO World Heritage Medina.

  • Day 4

    The ruined Roman outpost of Volubilis, one of the Empire’s most important outposts, is now the best-preserved archaeological site in Morocco.

  • Day 5

    Head to the Atlantic coast capital of Rabat, where royal palaces and medieval ruins are punctuated by parks and beaches for a relaxing city stay.

  • Day 6

    Swap culture for clubs and step onto Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, a Robert Trent Jones Sr design commissioned by golf enthusiast King Hassan II himself.

  • Day 7
